The total number of registered unemployed<\/b> in the Public Employment Service (PES) for April 2026<\/b>, registering a decrease <\/b>by 73,699 persons (-9.1%) compared to the same month of the previous year April 2025<\/b> and a decrease of 123.616 persons (-14.4%) compared to the previous month of March 2026.<\/b><\/p>\n
According to the registered unemployment statistics of the CPS<\/b>, of the total of 737,625 persons, 384,897 persons<\/b> (52.2%) are registered with the CPS for a period equal to or longer than 12 months and 352.728 (47.8%) have been registered with the CPS for less than 12 months.<\/p>\n
Men mounted to 251,197 (34.1%) and women <\/b>mounted to 486.428 persons (65.9%).<\/p>\n
The 30-44 age category<\/b> attracted the largest number of registered unemployed among the age categories, which amounted to 210.505 persons (28.5%).<\/p>\n
The secondary education<\/b> level, which includes post-secondary<\/b> education, had the highest number of registered unemployed among the educational levels, which amounted to 356.720 people (48.4%).<\/p>\n
Among the regions<\/b> of the country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia<\/b> recorded the largest number of registered unemployed, which amounted to 236.432 persons (32.1%) and 145,197 persons (19.7%) respectively.<\/p>\n
The total number of subsidized unemployed<\/b>, for the month of April 2026, (refers to the number of beneficiaries paid within the respective month), amounted to 162.482 persons, of which 120,966 (74.4%) are common unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 41,516 (25.6%) are seasonal workers in tourism occupations.<\/p>\n
Specifically, the number of subsidized unemployed, for the month of April 2026, amounted to 162.482 persons,<\/b>representing an increase of 6,426 persons (4.1%) compared to the corresponding month of April 2025 and a decrease of 13,824 persons (-7.8%) compared to the previous month of March 2026.<\/p>\n
Men <\/b>were 72,350 (44.5%) and women <\/b>were 90,132 (55.5%).<\/p>\n
Of the total subsidized unemployed, 114,467 (70.4%) are common<\/b>, 2,469 (1.5%) are household workers<\/b>, 41,516 (25.6%) are seasonal tourism workers, 3.564 (2.2%) are seasonal other (agricultural) workers, 388 (0.2%) are teachers and 78 (0.0%) are other subsidized workers.<\/p>\n
