After the closing of the book building,<\/b> the focus shifts to the crucial process of allocating new shares, which will shape the new shareholder composition of the company and mark the next phase of its investment strategic plan. The offer book closes with bids that by late yesterday afternoon exceeded 16 billion euros.<\/p>\n

Yesterday the guidance of the AMK was also announced with the offering price “locked” at 18.63 euros per share,<\/strong> a level that essentially coincides with the closing price on April 23, when PPC’s capital increase was announced, i.e. the so-called “unaffected” share price before the effect of the transaction was reflected in the market. The discount compared to yesterday’s closing price of 19.8 euros is at a limited level, which is interpreted by the market as an indication of strong demand and increased investor confidence in the issue.<\/p>\n

The PPC public offering is attracting strong interest from international portfolios, institutional investors and large funds<\/strong>, confirming that this is one of the most important financing moves in the Greek market in recent years. Among the names reportedly involved are US-based BlackRock and Blackstone, Arabic-interest Qatar Investment Authority, US-based Capital Group and London-based Covalis Capital, boosting the profile of the issue and the international investment weight of the transaction.<\/p>\n

The public sector’s footprint in the new shareholder structure, which will be invited to participate with a stake of more than \u20ac1.4 billion, remains crucial as the capital increase paves the way for the next phase of the group’s development. Yesterday, shortly before the book building was completed, PPC also highlighted the next strategic step in its expansion into telecoms, confirming the plan presented by management at the Investor Day in London last November to enter voice services and offer integrated telecoms services at competitive prices. The move strengthens the company’s footprint in the telecoms market by leveraging the second largest fibre optic network in the country and is part of its overall strategy to diversify its operations.<\/p>\n

The bet on the 24 billion investment plan is a move that is expected to boost the company’s market share. euros<\/h3>\n

The completion of the AMK is directly linked to the implementation of PPC’s \u20ac24 billion strategic plan up to 2030, which aspires to transform the company into a powerful energy and powertech group with an expanded international presence. According to the company’s plan, the main body of investments will be directed towards the Integrated Business, which absorbs about 69% of the total investment programme. This category includes renewable energy projects, gas plants, energy storage, trading and new international operations.<\/p>\n

A central pillar of the plan is the acceleration in renewable energy, with the aim of increasing the group’s installed capacity from 12.4 GW today to around 24.3 GW by 2030. New investments will focus on photovoltaic, wind, hydro and storage infrastructure, both in Greece and in markets in Southeast Europe.<\/p>\n

A significant part of the capital will be channelled into grid and distribution infrastructure. Around 19% of the total investments will be in the Distribution sector, with a focus on electricity networks, digitalisation, smart meters and strengthening the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) in Greece and Romania.<\/p>\n

The plan also foresees a stronger international presence, with around 27% of total investments being directed outside Greece, in markets such as Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland and Slovakia, with a focus on renewable energy and flexible generation plants.<\/p>\n

The new digital strategy of the company is also of particular importance, culminating in the data center development project in Kozani, which is officially included in the group’s investment plan for the first time. Around 5% of the total investment is in digital infrastructure and data centers, with the first phase envisaging a 300 MW campus by 2028 and a total capex of around \u20ac1.2 billion.<\/p>\n
