{"id":6742,"date":"2026-05-21T15:18:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T12:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=6742"},"modified":"2026-05-21T15:18:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T12:18:00","slug":"fines-of-more-than-e576000-for-unfair-profiteering-in-coffee-cereals-and-juices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=6742","title":{"rendered":"Fines of more than \u20ac576,000 for unfair profiteering in coffee, cereals and juices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New<b> administrative fines <\/b> totalling<b> \u20ac576,128<\/b> have been imposed by the Independent Authority <a href=\"https:\/\/tomanifesto.gr\/agora\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Control of Market and Protection <\/b>of Consumer, as part of the <b>intensive controls<\/b> to address unfair market profiteering phenomena.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, according to a statement, the company JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS, <\/b>which operates in the coffee category, was fined<b> 248,061 euros<\/b> for exceeding the allowed<b> gross profit margin<\/b> in <b>20 product codes.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the company <b>PEPSICO HELLAS M.A.V.E.<\/b> was fined <b>328,067 euros<\/b> for exceeding the allowed gross profit margin in <b>12 product codes<\/b> in the categories of cereals, chocolate and juices.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>According to the Authority&#8217;s announcement, the infringements concern the period from <b>13 March to 3 April 2026<\/b> and consist of exceeding the allowed profit margin in breach of the applicable legislation.<\/p>\n<p>The Authority notes that the <b>examination of other files<\/b> is continuing at an intensive pace, while <b>new decisions<\/b> are expected in the near future.
