Ishy seismic tremor size 6,0 Richter<\/strong> was recorded late Friday night (5\/22) (local time) near the Honaunau-Napupupu<\/strong> area on the Big Island of Hawaii<\/strong>, in US, causing concern among authorities and local residents. <\/p>\n

According to the American Geological Survey (USGS<\/strong>), the earthquake in question had a focal depth of approximately 23 km<\/strong> and was felt not only on the Big Island, but also on the islands of Mawi<\/strong> and Oahu<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

At the same time, scientists’ attention remains focused on the Kilauea<\/strong> volcano, which is also located on Hawaii’s Big Island and has been showing continued activity for months. <\/p>\n

The Kilauea<\/strong>, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, has been erupting periodically since December 23, 2024<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

In an update issued earlier yesterday, the Hawaii Volcano Observatory (HVO)<\/strong> said that, based on available forecast models, the next eruption is estimated to occur between May 24 and 27<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Despite the intensity of the quake, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center<\/strong> made it clear there is no risk of a tsunami after the quake. <\/p>\n

No damage or injuries have been reported so far, while relevant agencies continue to closely monitor the situation and seismic activity in the area. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
