Miltos Tendoglou, <\/b>the Greek Olympic gold medalist in the long jump, was found in terrible condition in Xiamen, China. <\/p>\n

Miltos Tendoglou opened his Diamond League campaign with a commanding victory at the Xiamen event, with a jump of 8.46m (0.0) and a second attempt of 8.37m (-0.2).<\/p>\n

The two-time Olympic gold medallist confirmed his very good form in a race that saw him face his main rivals on the road to the European Championships<\/b> in Birmingham and the Ultimate Championships.<\/p>\n

After clearing 8.37m (8cm behind the valve), George Pomasky’s athlete was invalid on the second vault and scored the big performance on the third. The 8.46m was his best jump since last June and the European Team Championships in Madrid.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old athlete a few days ago competed in Kefalonia in difficult weather conditions and as if in… training, he achieved 8.21m, boding excellent things for the future. And all this a few months after the very good performances in the winter season, which may not have been combined with a medal, but confirmed the athlete’s total return to the big jumps. <\/p>\n

Tendoglou achieved a new event record<\/b> and equalled Balde’s world-leading performance from the World Championships in Torun, which gave him gold in the event. The European champion, who competed without his coach present, opted not to perform the last three attempts.<\/p>\n

The athlete’s next race will be on the 29th at the Limassol meeting. Tadjay Gale took second place in the event with a season’s record of 8.32m, and Boydar Saraboyukov took third place with 8.29m. Mattia Furlani, just a few days out of 8.43m, landed at 8.28m and placed fourth.<\/p>\n

Elina Jengo also competed in the same event, placing 10th in the javelin with a 55.96m on her second throw. The athlete of George Botskariov started with 53.31m and was invalid on her third throw. The athlete is still at the beginning of the competition season and has not yet reached the level she wants.<\/p>\n
