The government’s new bill on pay transparency and combating inequalities in the workplace is referred to in a post by Niki Kerameos.<\/b><\/p>\n

In her post, Labour Minister notes that with this bill “we are putting an end to hidden inequalities and strengthening the protection of employees before and after recruitment”.<\/b><\/p>\n

And she stresses that pay should be determined by one’s job and merit, not by gender.<\/p>\n

The minister’s post reads as follows:<\/p>\n

“More work. Equal pay. Self-explanatory? And yet, not always. <\/b><\/p>\n

With our new pay transparency bill, we are ending hidden inequities and strengthening protections for workers before and after they are hired. <\/p>\n

Because your salary should be determined by your job and your merit. Not by your gender.”<\/p>\n
