The new system marks the gradual transition from handwritten to digital citations.<\/p>\n<p>The new system records, among other things, violations in bus lanes, speeding, red light violations, failure to wear a seat belt and helmet, and use of a mobile phone while driving. A.E., through cameras operating in bus lanes, to record relevant traffic and parking violations; and<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; by the Ministry of Digital Governance, through a pilot network of &#8220;smart&#8221; cameras, which support the detection of violations such as not wearing a protective helmet, not wearing a seat belt, exceeding the speed limit, violating a red light and using a mobile phone while driving.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; by the Ministry of Digital Governance, through a pilot network of &#8220;smart&#8221; cameras, which support the detection of violations such as not wearing a protective helmet, not wearing a seat belt, exceeding the speed limit, violating a red light and using a mobile phone while driving.<\/p>\n<p>The programme uses modern technological tools with an emphasis on supporting the work of the Traffic Services and improving day-to-day operational functioning.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of all stakeholders is to create a reliable, functional and fully documented system, which will effectively support the work of the control authorities, while ensuring citizens&#8217; rights, transparency and the absolute legitimacy of the procedures for the confirmation of infringements.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the use of modern technological means aims to reduce road accidents, to strengthen the prevention of dangerous driving behaviour and to improve the overall level of road safety.<\/p>\n<p> A limited number concerned issues of a technical or procedural nature, such as time mismatch (-17- cases), indistinguishable features (-12- cases) or vehicles for which specific exemptions to the use of seat belts are provided (-3- cases).
