Search<\/b> at European level<\/b> for protection adults<\/b> and limits on access to social media<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis<\/b> today participated in a teleconference<\/b> on the protection of adults<\/b> on the internet<\/b> and the adoption of a pan-European age limit for access to social media<\/b>, convened at the initiative of French President Emanuel Macron<\/b>.<\/p>\n

During the teleconference<\/b>, in which 14 EU member states were represented and European Commission President Orsula von der Leyen<\/b> took part, the Prime Minister gave an update on Greece’s decision to soon legislate to ban minors under 15 from accessing social media<\/b>, a measure that will come into force on January 1, 2027<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Kyriakos Mitsotakis<\/b> stressed the need for a European age verification mechanism<\/b>, as well as a European digital age of majority<\/b>, so that national initiatives<\/b> are fully harmonised with EU legislation<\/b>.<\/p>\n
