The pan-European STOXX 600<\/b> index fell to a two-week low in early trading today, after increasing tensions in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
The STOXX 600 was down 0.9 percent at 616.04 points in the early minutes of the session, with all major regional indices moving into negative territory.<\/p>\n
Crude oil jumped after an exchange of fire between Israel and Iran<\/b> over the weekend, jeopardizing the fragile ceasefire<\/b> in the region and overshadowing any hopes for an imminent end to the conflict.<\/p>\n
Stock prices are trending down at the start of today’s Athens Stock Exchange session, following the downward trend in European markets. <\/p>\n
The General Price Index at 11:00 a.m. is at 2,337.23 points, down 0.78 percent.<\/b><\/p>\n
The value of transactions is 26.59 million euros.<\/p>\n
The high-cap index is down 0.81 percent, while the mid-cap index is down 0.70 percent.<\/p>\n
Of the high-cap stocks, the biggest rises were recorded by Optima Bank (+1.08%), Motor Oil (+0.65%), HELPE (+0.49%) and PPC (+0.37%).<\/b><\/p>\n
On the other hand, the biggest decline is recorded by shares of Metlen (-1.51%), Viohalco (-1.44%), Elvalhalcor (-1.35%), Allwyn (-1.26%) and Ethniki (-1.22%).<\/b><\/p>\n
12 stocks are moving up, 74 down and 12 remain stable.<\/p>\n
The biggest rise is recorded by shares of: Lanacam (+2.86%) and Unibios (+1.24%), while the biggest decline is recorded by: Cordello Bros (-8.69%) and Frigoglass (-4.76%).<\/b><\/p>\n
