At least eight people have been killed and more than 40 wounded in the past 24 hours in Russian strikes in Ukraine, authorities said today.<\/p>\n
“Unable to achieve its objectives on the battlefield, Russia is stepping up its acts of terror against civilians<\/b>,” said Ukrainian diplomatic chief Adriy Sibiha<\/b>, calling for “intensified pressure” on Moscow.<\/p>\n
After more than four years since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, shelling continues almost daily on both sides of the front and diplomatic negotiations have reached a stalemate.<\/b><\/p>\n
In Chuhuiv, in the Kharkov region, a Russian strike claimed the lives of a 22-year-old pregnant woman<\/b> and two men, aged 56 and 70<\/b>, according to a newest account posted on Telegram by the regional governor Olekh Sinekhubov<\/b>. According to the same source, in the city of Kharkiv itself, Ukraine’s second-largest near the border with Russia, the strikes wounded at least 15 people.<\/p>\n
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched a total of 166 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and two missiles overnight, of which 146 drones were intercepted.<\/p>\n
The emergency response agency also revised upward the toll of a Russian strike yesterday in Zaporizhzhya<\/b>, southern Ukraine, to two dead and 32 wounded.<\/p>\n
