Agreement Public Power Corporation and Vodafone Greece<\/b> on the framework for exploring cooperation through the creation of a jointly controlled fibre optic infrastructure company.<\/b><\/p>\n
The signing of a non-binding framework of key terms for the possible creation of a joint 50-50 company<\/b>, which will be active in the provision of wholesale fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network services in Greece, was announced today by PPC Group and Vodafone Greece.<\/p>\n
The joint company will result from the merger of PPC Fibergrid (a wholly owned subsidiary of PPC) and Fiber2All (a wholly owned subsidiary of Vodafone Greece).<\/b><\/p>\n
This strategic partnership aims to create a new pole in the digital infrastructure market, the two companies note, adding:<\/p>\n
With the signing of the non-binding framework of key terms, the process for the detailed design and completion of the agreement begins. The next steps include the necessary checks between the two parties (due diligence), the signing of binding agreements and obtaining the necessary approvals from the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n
The new company will operate purely as a wholesale provider, offering its services to all telecom operators in the market, with complete neutrality.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The creation of a network of this scale is expected to accelerate the adoption of ultra-high speeds<\/b>, making a decisive contribution to the digital transformation<\/b> of the Greek economy and society. PPC FiberGrid’s 100% fiber optic network (FTTH) has now reached 1.88 million homes passed, of which more than 1.1 million are already available for direct connection (ready for service). Vodafone’s FTTH network coverage exceeds 550,000 homes and businesses (available for direct connection).<\/p>\n
