Three traffic interventions, announcements on waste in July, new tax breaks at the DETH and spikes against the opposition were announced by Kostis Hatzidakis.<\/p>\n

Kostis Hatzidakis on traffic, three projects in focus<\/h3>\n

Three major interventions<\/strong> to tackle the traffic problem<\/b> in Attica, announced the vice-president of the government, Kostis Hatzidakis<\/strong>, speaking to SKAI 100.3.<\/p>\n

The first concerns the bypass of Kifissos<\/strong>, through the connection of the Athens-Lamia and Athens-Corinth roads, so that vehicles do not have to pass through the centre of Athens. He said the project is expected to be one of the first applications of the institution of model proposals<\/strong>, which allows private companies to propose projects that are then put out to tender through a competitive bidding process.<\/p>\n

The second intervention concerns the management of traffic on Kifissos<\/strong>, while the third relates to the declogging of the southern axis<\/strong> and the connection of the Katechaki-Karea<\/strong> avenue with the Vouliagmeni<\/strong> avenue via an underground tunnel.<\/p>\n

Hatzidakis stressed that these initiatives are not at a theoretical level, but require further technical preparation<\/strong> due to their complexity and high cost. At the same time, he noted that the budgetary pressure requires careful prioritisation of projects, recalling that despite the annual increase of 500 million euros<\/strong> in the relevant funds, available resources remain limited in relation to needs.<\/p>\n

On waste, announcements in July<\/h3>\n

Referring to waste management<\/strong> in Attica, the deputy prime minister announced important developments in July<\/strong>, in cooperation between the Attica Region and the Environment and Energy Ministry.<\/p>\n

As he stressed, the aim is to boost recycling and reduce the volume of waste sent to landfill. In this context, the modernisation of the Emaki Filis<\/strong> plant is planned, while the second plant in Schisto<\/strong> will proceed through Partnership<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She also placed particular emphasis on the energy recovery of waste<\/strong>, noting that private companies will be able to buy waste for energy production, a practice already applied in many European countries.<\/p>\n

At the same time, he disclosed that discussions are underway between DEDEDE<\/strong> and the relevant ministries to better coordinate projects related to underground networks<\/strong>, with the aim of reducing nuisance to residents.<\/p>\n

Anti-tax evasion measures and new interventions at the TIF<\/h3>\n

On the issue of tax evasion<\/strong>, Mr. Hatzidakis said he was proud of the digitisation initiatives implemented in previous years, such as the linking of POS<\/strong> with cash registers and the implementation of myData<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to him, these interventions contributed to the reduction of the void VAT<\/strong> from 23.5% to 9.5%, a level that now corresponds to the European average. He also argued that the boost to public revenues from curbing tax evasion allows for both social benefits and tax cuts.<\/p>\n

Referring to the TASS<\/strong>, he announced new announcements in September focusing on tax reduction<\/strong> and support for the vulnerable<\/strong>, specifying that final decisions would be taken taking into account the international economic uncertainty.<\/p>\n

Restriction of bureaucracy in the public sector, evaluation and political confrontation<\/h3>\n

The deputy prime minister argued that significant progress had been made in restricting bureaucracy<\/strong>, spearheaded by gov.gr<\/strong>, the 1555<\/strong> and 1566<\/strong> call centres, as well as the interventions that accelerated the issuance of pensions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the same time, he referred to the recent law for a more citizen-friendly state, which provides, among other things, for the replacement of certain supporting documents by willing statements<\/strong> and the operation of an electronic platform to monitor the progress of citizens’ applications.<\/p>\n

Hatzidakis also reiterated the position of New Democracy in favour of the evaluation of civil servants with the resumption of tenure<\/strong>, in the context of the constitutional revision.<\/p>\n

He concluded by attacking the opposition, claiming that the New Democracy<\/strong> is the only political force that “looks to the future”, while accusing its political opponents of toxicity<\/strong>, hostility<\/strong> and resorting to “spurious theories”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
