Nikos Bozionelos has unveiled his book “World Cup Confidential”, revealing stories of politics, money, power and geopolitics behind the World Cup. <\/p>\n
Skai’s “Atairistoi” show hosted Nikos Bozionelos<\/strong>, on the occasion of the release of his book “World Cup Confidential”<\/strong>, which explores the relationships between politics<\/strong>, money<\/strong>, power<\/strong> and football. <\/p>\n Christos Koutras<\/strong> welcomed the author, noting that the presence of both the book and its author was a “double pleasure”, describing the work as “amazing” and stressing that it highlights what goes on behind the World Cup curtain. At the same time, he stood by the compelling research<\/strong> that, he said, seems to have preceded it. <\/p>\n In response, Nikos Bozionelos<\/strong> explained that the book is the result of years of research<\/strong> and utilization of archive<\/strong> staff. He said he realized he had collected too many stories and decided to see if they could be organized into chapters. <\/p>\n In the end, of about 100 stories<\/strong> he collected, 70<\/strong> were included in the book, leaving open the possibility of a future sequel<\/strong>. The work has 70 chapters<\/strong> and 640 pages<\/strong>. <\/p>\n The author stressed that it is more of a historical<\/strong> than a purely sports book<\/strong>, as it focuses on the way in which football is linked to politics<\/strong>, geopolitics<\/strong> and wider centres of power<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n Kutras: “We have the pleasure of having a book and the author, which is a double pleasure.
