Journalist Nikos Servetas has suddenly passed away at the age of 66.

The loss was made known by his colleagues, with farewell posts on social media.

Former MEP Dmitris Papadimoulis also expressed his grief at the sudden loss, writing about Nikos Servetas, among other things: “Nikos was a leftist with an opinion from his youth, a journalist for 40 years, a journalist with a good and sharp pen, a warm person with a great sense of humour. Our beloved Niko, you left us too soon and unjustly.”

A post was also made by former Councillor SYRIZA-PS Fotini Vaki, expressing “unspeakable grief” for the loss of the journalist.

“The sadness is unspeakable and the shock is great when a dear friend leaves so suddenly. Nikos Servetas is no longer with us. The last time we spoke was at the Epoch party on Saturday. And that wine, we kept putting it off and didn’t get to drink it. You’re in a hurry. Courage and strength, Angelica. Condolences to his children and loved ones,” Fotini Vaki wrote.
