The Greek Cup, the second tier Greek football competition is entering a new era.

And that’s because Yiannis Alafouzos submitted a highly tempting offer to get the TV rights that was accepted, with both sides shaking hands so that the games will be broadcast on the new platform owned by the news dot com (SKAY).

It is noted that the above television agreement includes the Super Cup match between AEK and OFI, with the date between last year’s champions and last year’s Cup winners scheduled for Wednesday, August 12.

The relevant EPO update:

“A historic day for EPO with record-breaking deals that change the standards of Greek football and the level of the Federation, which makes the most of its competitions!

The decision by the EPO’s EU to radically revamp the Greek Cup with a new format – which includes League Phase and knockout matches – and to reinstate the Super Cup is proving to be “golden” for the Federation:

Less than a year after its implementation, the Greek Cup has been transformed into a much more attractive and commercially powerful product and led to new agreements on TV rights and naming of the institution, which were ratified at today’s Executive Committee meeting.

For the Cup and Super Cup TV rights, the new deal will bring a nearly 300% increase in revenue (297% to be precise) and for naming rights a 145% increase in revenue compared to the previous contracts.

Of the above deals, EPO will put 13 into its coffers over the next three years.140,000 (compared to 4,220,000 in the previous three years), breaking all previous financial records!

– The television is assigned to the company “news dot com” (SKAI)

– The naming rights to the company SBI Digital Marketing Limited (Superbet)”
