Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched for the second consecutive day a fierce attack against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , using particularly harsh language against the Israeli leadership and warning of “accountability” for the crimes, as he put it, in Gaza.
In remarks made during event marking the 158th anniversary of the founding of the Red Crescent, Erdogan described Israel as a source of destabilization and violence in the region, directly accusing the current Israeli government of division and bloodshed.
“Israel, under its current leadership, has turned into a factory of discord, whose raw material is nothing but blood and tears, nothing but instability and chaos. Those who attack our region, like sharks that smell blood, will ultimately be held accountable for the blood they have spilled; the cry of the oppressed, which makes the heavens tremble, will sooner or later grab the tyrants by the collar,” said the Turkish president.
The Turkish president continued in even stronger tones, drawing historical parallels and issuing a direct warning to those who, as he said, engage in practices of authoritarianism and violence.
“Those who today follow in the footsteps of Hitler should not forget that, if they continue this way, their fate will be the same as that of other tyrants in history,” he said, while also asserting that Turkey will continue to support the Palestinians and simultaneously demand international accountability for what is happening in Gaza.
