The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection announced the extension of the deadline for clearing plots of land until June 22 Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Evangelos Tournas, speaking on ERT.
Mr. Tournas also pointed out that as of last night, 373,000 property clearings had been reported on the relevant digital platform (https://akatharista.apps.gov.gr.). As Mr. Tournas noted, the Risk Assessment Committee met today.
After evaluating meteorological data and taking into account the weather conditions that have prevailed recently, the Committee expressed the opinion that a short extension for the clearing of plots could be considered.
At the same time, it emphasized the need for the relevant work to be expedited by the citizens responsible and the competent authorities, as the weather conditions expected in the coming days will become more challenging. Mr. Tournas noted that it is the obligation and responsibility of every citizen to clear their property and added that the process should be completed in a timely manner.
