“I return with a sense of responsibility, joy, and emotion, taking on the European Affairs portfolio,” stated Tassos Hatzivassiliou, following his swearing-in ceremony and his assumption of duties as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Hatzivassiliou in a statement warmly thanked Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the trust and honor of appointing him Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasizing that he is returning to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Taking on the portfolio of European Affairs, Mr. Hatzivassiliou highlighted the common challenges facing European Union societies today, as well as on preparations for Greece’s Presidency of the European Council in 2027, which he described as a national priority.
In conclusion, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that “it is an honor for me to work toward achieving our collective national goals, always guided by the interests of my country and my fellow citizens in Serres and throughout Greece.”
