Regarding the dilemma of the upcoming upcoming elections, the press spokesperson for New Democracy, Alexandra Sdoukou, speaking on ERT, emphasizing that “we want a majority government because we believe that is what the country needs.”
She also emphasized that “the electoral process must be a one-time event; otherwise, time and money will be wasted, and the country could descend into instability and enter a period of political gridlock.”
Furthermore, Ms. Sdoukou stressed that “over the past seven years, the country has been on a growth trajectory, with fiscal stability and surpluses, and is gradually transforming all of the above into collective prosperity.”
Regarding the election dilemma, she noted that the key question is whether we will complete what began in 2019 and continued in 2023, or whether we will return to 2015. “Kyriakos Mitsotakis has experience, competence, an understanding of the problems, is self-critical, and has the international standing to lead us to the Greece of 2030” she said, concluding that the key is “that what we have achieved over the past 7 years not be undone.”
At the same time, Ms. Sdoukou spoke of a bidding war of promises in which PASOK and Tsipras’s party, emphasizing that “citizens and the media should keep a notebook and write down what they promise”.
Regarding the proposal by PASOK for free public transportation for citizens under 24, Ms. Sdoukou countered that “we did something else: we secured the fiscal space and eliminated the tax for young people and reduced it to 9% for those over 25. These are horizontal policies that allow you to enjoy the fruits of your labor and spend your income as you wish, wherever you are.”
He noted that “we have never heard anyone say how we will generate wealth. How investments will come in, how more jobs will be created, beyond the nearly 600,000 we’ve created so far. You have to first think about how to grow the “pie” and then share it fairly.”
