Telephone talks were held earlier by the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the President of Lebanon Josef Aoun and the Prime Minister of Israel Benyamin Netanyahu.
During these contacts, he was briefed on the latest developments in Lebanon and expressed his satisfaction at the achievement of a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for the Lebanese government to exercise full sovereignty over its entire territory, while noting that Greece maintains strategic cooperation with Israel and very good relations with Lebanon.
At the same time, he expressed the country’s readiness to contribute wherever necessary, stressing that the maintenance of the ceasefire is a crucial factor for stability and peace in the wider region.
