Some of the most important acts of giving require nothing more than a few minutes of our time.
For example, we can volunteer to donate blood or a saliva sample and become bone marrow donors.

These two significant acts of solidarity with our fellow human beings are at the heart of the volunteer initiative by AllwynCare, which is coming tomorrow, June 16, to the Piraeus Municipal Theater and invites us all to become life savers. The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the organizations Bloode and Choose Life.

Tomorrow, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, in a relaxed, summery setting, we have the opportunity to participate in a blood drive and register as bone marrow donors. By taking 20 minutes to donate blood, we can help up to three fellow human beings. To register as a bone marrow donor, all it takes is a saliva sample on a swab, while the donation, when needed, is in most cases performed in a manner similar to blood donation, without surgery. So, with just a few minutes of our time, we can give someone a second chance at life.

Those of us who wish to take part in Allwyn Care’s initiative and become “Life Savers” can visit allwyncare.bloode.org and express our interest.
Key initiatives at the heart of Allwyn Care
The “Allwyn Care Life Savers” initiative aims to boost voluntary blood donation, expand the bone marrow donor pool, and promote preventive cancer screenings. At the heart of Allwyn’s new comprehensive and long-term health initiative lies the project to completely renovate the General Cancer Hospital of Piraeus “Metaxas,” which was recently announced.

Following Piraeus, Allwyn Care’s initiative will expand to other regions throughout Greece, with the goal of raising awareness among even more of our fellow citizens to become Life Savers. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Hellenic Cancer Society and the organizations Bloode and Choose Life.
