The Land Registry is now fully operational in Ilia and Messinia

Specifically, on Monday, June 15, 2026, the following municipalities were incorporated into the Cadastre system: Andravida-Kyllini, Andritsaina-Krestena, Ancient Olympia, Zacharo, Elis, Peneus, and Pyrgos of the Regional Unit of Ilia in the Region of Western Greece, and the municipalities of Western Mani, Kalamata, Messini, Oichalia, Pylos–Nestoras, and Trifyllia, in the Regional Unit of Messinia in the Peloponnese Region.

The incorporation of 432,806 properties and 441,614 rights in the Regional Unit of Ilia and 533,744 properties and 583,890 rights in the Regional Unit of Messinia, furthermore, under the land registry system, it ushers in a new era of speed, transparency, and legal certainty in transactions, eliminating bureaucracy and making daily life easier for citizens and professionals.

With the inclusion of these new regions, Ilia and Messinia are gaining a comprehensive and modern Land Registry, leaving time-consuming traditional procedures behind for good. Citizens and professionals gain immediate access to digital services that guarantee transparency, speed, and the absolute protection of their real estate.

Furthermore, the comprehensive recording of legal and geographic information for all properties simplifies daily transactions and serves as the key driver for proper spatial planning and attracting new investment initiatives to the regions.

The Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Christos Dermentzopoulos, stated: “Two more major Regional Units in our country are acquiring a complete, digital Cadastre. This means that every professional and citizen in Ilia and Messinia can, with a single click, through the Land Registry platform, get a complete picture of their property and carry out any transaction at speeds that seemed impossible just a few years ago. The Land Registry is nearing completion, and at the heart of this major effort—from start to finish—has been the assurance of more efficient and immediate service for citizens, without the delays and uncertainty of previous years».

Digital Services of the Hellenic Land Registry

•    Submission of notarial deeds (except in special cases) exclusively in digital form.

•    Digital management of legal acts by attorneys (registration of preliminary notices, cancellation of real property liens).

•    Electronic submission of court documents via court bailiffs.

• Electronic submission of documents by the Public Administration (AADE)

•    Requests for corrections and obvious errors exclusively in digital form.

• Searches in the land registry database exclusively online.

•    Issuance of certificates and copies 24/7 digitally.

• Electronic filing – No physical submission of documents.

•    Elimination of stamp duties on applications and certificates.

• Exclusively electronic payments (e-banking & POS).

• Operating hours for on-site research: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM (standardized nationwide).
