The signing of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement for Technologists and Scientists in the Food Industry was announced by Niki Kerameos, referring to a significant development that comes after 15 years.

In a post on social media, the Minister of Labor stated that the new contract covers more than 2,500 workers in the sector and provides for increases in wages, as well as new benefits for the period 2026–2029.

“New Collective Bargaining Agreement. After 15 years, for Food Technologists & Scientists. It covers more than 2,500 employees. With pay raises and new benefits for the period 2026–2029. We actively support collective bargaining agreements,” Ms. Kerameos wrote.

The minister emphasized that the government is strengthening the institutions of collective bargaining and collective labor agreements, noting that this agreement improves the framework for wages and working conditions for professionals in the food sector.

The new agreement is expected to take effect in 2026 and cover the next three years, through 2029, providing wage increases and additional employment benefits to the workers covered by it.
