The Minister of Justice George Floridis assessed that the PASOK will come under pressure, as it is accused of being unable to put together a credible alternative governance proposal.

George Floridis on PASOK—sharp criticism of rhetoric and policy choices

George Floridis on SKAI argued that PASOK “will come under pressure,” since, as he noted, in recent years it has failed to define a policy that would make it a serious and credible opposition force.

At the same time, the minister accused the party of choosing to “tag along” behind fringe parties, specifically citing its march behind Zoe Konstantopoulou.

He also noted that PASOK adopted extreme rhetoric and perpetuated conspiracy theories, a fact which, in his view, painted the picture of a party operating according to the logic of marginal political group rather than a historic party that has governed the country.

In closing, Giorgos Floridis assessed that this particular political course is already taking a toll on PASOK, adding that it remains to be seen whether this cost will ultimately prove to be particularly burden for the party.
