This is what happens when one resorts to slogans to “argue” in favor of one’s proposals.
Remaining, apparently, deeply entrenched in left-wing slogans, Alexis Tsipras claimed, in no uncertain terms, that public transportation is a privilege of the few. A fact, of course, that hardly explains his proposal for free travel for everyone—except tourists—on public transit, in Athens and Thessaloniki.
SKAI journalist commented on Tsipras’s statements, Manos Voularinos, calling on us to “all get on the 550, which is currently enjoyed only by the plutocrats!”
The journalist said pointedly: “Public transportation will no longer be a privilege of the few and the powerful. Well done, Alexis! With the playboy prime minister, buses and trolleys will no longer be the privilege of the powerful, but will become the property of the entire people. We’ll finally all be able to ride the 550, which is currently enjoyed only by the plutocrats! Our Alexis will bring about a revolution.”
