The need for PASOK to join forces with ELAS ahead of the is once again raised by Louka Katseli, arguing that a unified ticket would be the politically sounder choice for the opposition forces.

Speaking on Thursday (June 18) on Parapolitika 90.1, the former minister argued that the two parties will in any case be called upon to address the issue of cooperation, either before or after the election, provided that Kyriakos Mitsotakis is unable to form a government.

PASOK and ELAS will be forced to cooperate sooner or later, the question is when they will cooperate and under what conditions,” said Louka Katseli, noting that it would be “better and much more appropriate” to form a coalition and present a unified ticket before the elections.

She acknowledged, however, that such a scenario “seems difficult” before the first round of voting. As he assessed, on the first Sunday three main blocs will emerge: “a coalition of forces led by Mr. Tsipras, PASOK , and Ms. Karystianou,” all of whom will vie for the public’s vote.
