At least one person was killed following a Russian air bombing that took place in Kharkiv, in northeastern Ukraine, during the night.

According to local authorities, the attack struck a residential area of the city, causing damage to buildings and prompting an immediate response from rescue teams.

The mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, stated in a post on Telegram: “Following an enemy airstrike with guided bombs, a residential neighborhood was reportedly hit.”

A short time later, he confirmed the first death from the attack, noting: “Unfortunately, during search and rescue operations, the body of a person was found under the rubble of a destroyed building.”

Nine injured in the nighttime strike

The head of the region’s military command, Oleg Sinegubov, stated that at least nine people were injured during the attack.

Authorities are continuing their investigations at the affected sites, while civil defense crews are working to clear debris and assess the extent of the damage.

Moscow announced that it had shot down 187 Ukrainian drones

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the country’s air defense forces shot down a total of 187 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) overnight.

According to Russian reports, the drones were shot down in many regions of the country, including the greater Moscow area, as the war continues to push the front lines deep into both sides of the border.
