The Israeli army announced that it had neutralized Hussein Qandara and Mohammed Fara, who, according to Israeli authorities, were linked to the financing network of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
The two men are described as operational leaders of the military wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, playing an active role in managing and funneling funds to the organizations’ armed wings.
The IDF’s allegations regarding their role
According to a post by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Platform X, Hussein Qandara was at the helm of this network alongside Mohammed Fara, operating under the direction of Hamas.
According to the IDF, the two men, along with other members of the organizations, were involved in transferring sums exceeding half a billion shekels to Hamas’s military wing.
The money was allegedly funneled through an extensive network that included dozens of smugglers and money launderers in Turkey and the Gaza Strip.

What Israel claims about the funds
The Israeli armed forces claim that these funds were used to finance Hamas’s activities and to pay salaries to members of the organization.
“Through this money, the terrorist organization Hamas has continued, particularly in recent times, to pay salaries to its terrorists and to finance terrorist activities against the Israeli Defense Forces and the citizens of the State of Israel, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.”
