A package of 142.969 million euros is earmarked for municipalities affected by natural disasters.
By decisions of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis, following a recommendation by the Government Committee on State Aid, funds totaling 142,969,000 euros were allocated to support Local Government Organizations (LAGs) of the first degree, Municipal Associations, and legal entities of LAGs affected by natural disasters, within the framework of the Special Program for the Response to and Recovery from Natural Disasters under the National Operational Program (NOP) 2026–2030.
The funding is intended for the implementation of projects to repair damage and reinforce critical infrastructure affected by natural phenomena, with the aim of rapidly restoring the functionality of essential networks and services, as well as strengthening the resilience of local communities against future risks.
The Special Program for Natural Disaster Response and Recovery (EPA) 2026–2030 constitutes a central pillar for funding actions to prevent, recovery, and strengthening the resilience of infrastructure, thereby helping to effectively shield the country against the risks posed by natural disasters.
