A family tragedy occurred in France when the bodies of dead two little boys aged 4 and 2 years old.

The incident occurred in Carpentras, in the south of the country, while the region is being hit by a severe heatwave. According to local media reports, the two young children were found inside the family car, which was parked in the garage of their home.

“The causes of death have not yet been determined, but the theory that they lost their lives due to the heatwave is the leading one,” Carpentras prosecutor Hélène Mourz told the French Press Agency.

According to BFMTV, the incident occurred at 1:10 p.m. local time. The two children were locked inside the vehicle after their mother returned from shopping.

The city’s mayor said he was shocked by the incident and expressed his condolences to the children’s families. At the same time, he urged parents and grandparents to exercise extra caution during periods of extreme heat.

“Cars, swimming pools, and any outdoor area without shade can be dangerous for young children when temperatures are this high,” he emphasized.

It should be noted that so far, three other deaths attributed to the heat wave have been recorded in France.
