Adonis Georgiadis launched a scathing attack against Alexis Tsipras, making scathing remarks about the internal party dynamics surrounding the ousting of Stefanos Kasselakis and accusing the media of selectively reporting his poll numbers.
In his characteristic, aggressive, and media-savvy manner, the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, on the political comeback of Alexis Tsipras and the internal dynamics within the Left. Mr. Georgiadis directly challenged the narrative of the former prime minister’s “political vindication,” contrasting the election results of the recent past with the current performance of his new political venture and speaking of an orchestrated effort to overthrow the previous leadership. As he pointedly noted, Mr. Tsipras “was sidelined as a failure with 17.8%, orchestrated the whole conspiracy, and they took Kasselakis down at the bouzouki club, because Kasselakis got ‘only’ 15.6% at the polls.”
Continuing his criticism, the Minister of Health focused on the findings of recent public opinion polls, expressing his surprise at the way the media assesses the influence of the former president of SYRIZA. He argued that there is a clear discrepancy between Mr. Tsipras’s actual electoral influence and the image presented to the public, emphasizing: “And now Tsipras, with a measly 15% in the polls—not at the ballot box—is a triumphant figure.”
