The “sheriffs” of the Left are back to take from the middle class what they failed to take during the “first time Left.”

The views of the officials of the ELAS –someone else wants to tax yachts that… run, another on 50-meter (sic) swimming pools, and yet another on high-displacement cars (the “day laborers” with their luxury electric cars get off scot-free)– but this is no joke.

In this case, the unbearable lightness of stupidity goes beyond the bounds of mere error, which some will want to attribute to the inexperience of the newly recruited Hellenic Police officers.

The troubled history of Alexis Tsipras regarding the relentless taxation imposed on the middle class during his tenure, when the “moral high ground” was cutting pensions and reducing wages while raising tax rates and even imposing taxes on pay-TV subscriptions, supports the view that the “sheriffs” of the Left are returning to take from the middle class whatever they failed to take during the “first time the Left was in power.”

These public statements, which echo the policy positions of Alexis Tsipras’s party, confirm that this stupidity is not only arrogant but also blatantly provocative.

They accuse the government of raising taxes—even though dozens of tax cuts and abolitions have been implemented—but their own tax hikes are… for a good cause. All these “bullshitters,” as philosopher H. Frankfurt puts it, don’t give a damn about the truth. They say whatever pops into their heads…
