In the new poll by Interview, New Democracy rises to 28.1%, the Hellenic Police gains ground, PASOK remains stagnant, and Elpida is falling significantly.

The new Interview poll for POLITIC shows shifts in the political balance, with New Democracy increasing its support, ELAS consolidating its second-place position, and PASOK remaining stagnant. At the same time, the “Elpida” party led by Maria Karystianou is showing the biggest drop in the poll, losing more than two percentage points in a month.

Interview Poll, voting intention: New Democracy gains ground

In the voting intention, New Democracy garners 28.1%, marking a two-point increase compared to the previous month, when it stood at 26.1%.

In second place is ELAS with 14.5%, also showing an increase of 1.7 points. PASOK remains unchanged at 12.3%, showing no significant change compared to the May poll.

Next are Greek Solution at 7.4%, Hope at 5.4%, KKE at 4.5%, Voice of Reason at 4%, Freedom Course at 3%, MERA25 at 2.9%, the Democrats with 2%, while SYRIZA is limited to 0.5%, as is Niki. New Left stands at 0.3%, other parties at 5.1%, and undecided voters at 9.5%.

Maria Karystianou, the biggest drop of the month

The party “Hope” led by Maria Karystianou shows the largest loss of support in this poll. From 7.5% in May, it has fallen to 5.4% in June, recording a drop of 2.1 percentage points.

At the same time, the pool of undecided voters has decreased significantly, from 12.7% to 9.5%, suggesting that a significant portion of the public has shifted their political alignment. According to the findings, the main beneficiaries of this shift are the New Democracy, the ELAS, and the Greek Solution.

Skepticism Toward New Political Formations

Of particular interest are citizens’ views on the leaders of the new parties.

Regarding EL.A.S., 42% believe it consists of figures lacking a convincing political presence, while 29% cite the recycling of old political figures. Only 15% believe there are competent and serious figures.

The picture is even more negative for Elpida, as 67% of respondents believe that its leaders lack a convincing political presence. Only 6% rate them as competent and serious, while 17% acknowledge their good intentions but limited political experience.

At the same time, the possibility of Antonis Samaras forming a new party does not seem to be gaining much traction. 78% say they would not vote for it at all, while only 12% view it favorably.

Mitsotakis is the most suitable prime minister – Issues of concern to citizens

When asked who is the most suitable political leader to govern the country, Kyriakos Mitsotakis leads with 32%. This is followed by the response “none” at 16.3%, Alexis Tsipras at 15.4%, Nikos Androulakis at 10%, Kyriakos Velopoulos with 6.7%, and Maria Karystianou with 5.1%.

When it comes to priorities for the new generation, citizens rank wages and employment at the top with 50%, followed by housing at 26%. Education accounts for 14%, and entrepreneurship for 8%.

At the same time, 56% view proposals for free or significantly discounted public transportation for young people as an election campaign slogan, while 28% consider them a necessary social measure.

Finally, regarding the reopening of the Theological School of Halki, 48% believe that the decision is primarily linked to an effort to improve Turkey’s international image, while 22% attribute it to the intervention of Donald Trump. Only 8% consider the long-standing request of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to be a decisive factor.
