The event is a new, large-scale initiative featuring leading speakers, aimed at highlighting and redefining the relationship between sports and tourism. The Sports & Tourism Summit 2026 focuses on the role that sports and tourism can play in education, public health, inclusion, social cohesion, integrity, and sustainable development.
Participants in the program include, among others, the Vice President of the Greek Government, Kostis Hatzidakis, the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Sofia Zacharaki, the Deputy Minister, Ioannis Vroutsis, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Anna Karamanli, the Deputy Minister of Health, Marios Themistokleous, the World Champion in Synchronized Swimming, Evangelia Plataniti, the Track and Field Champion, Anastasia Dragomirova, the Paralympians, Nikos Papangelis and Stelios Malakopoulos, and the Majority Shareholder of AEK BC, Makis Angelopoulos.

The Sports & Tourism Summit 2026 “Sports and Tourism as a Vehicle for Social Development” is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, the Ministry of Health, the General Secretariat for Sports, the Region of Attica, the Regional Union of Attica Municipalities, the Municipality of Galatsi, and the Panhellenic Sports Press Association.
The conference is aimed at executives of agencies, organizations , and companies in the sports and tourism sectors, representatives of institutions and educational institutions, athletes of all ages, students and young professionals, as well as any citizen interested in the contribution of sports and tourism to social development.
The purpose of the Sports & Tourism Summit is to present policies, practices, and collaborations that can contribute to social development and work in tandem to create added value. Through a multi-thematic program of discussions, the Sports & Tourism Summit 2026 seeks answers to critical issues, highlighting sports and tourism as tools for social progress.
