The president of the United States, Donald Trump, in a social media post, stated that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open “without further naval blockade”.
“However, all ships remain on standby in case they are needed,” added Trump.
He also claimed that Iran has “fully and unconditionally agreed to nuclear inspections at the highest level.”
“If they hadn’t agreed to this, there would be no further negotiations,” wrote Trump on Truth Social.
The U.S. president also stated that the funds and the lifting of sanctions to be released to Iran will be deposited into escrow accounts “under U.S. control” and will be used exclusively for “the purchase of food and medical supplies” from the United States, including “corn, wheat, and soybeans from our great American farmers.”
