A brawl involving about ten people broke out shortly before midnight in the Kallithea area, resulting in the death of a young man.
One of the individuals attacked the 17-year-old, stabbing him in the chest with a knife. The perpetrator was arrested a short while ago and, according to reports, has confessed.
The teenager was picked up by an EKAB ambulance, which transported him in serious condition to Hippocrates Hospital, where a short time later he succumbed to his injuries.
The police made 14 arrests, and during the investigation, the knife believed to have been used in the attack was recovered.
According to initial reports, the clash was motivated by rivalry between sports fans.
