For the time is near—whenever and however the elections take place, the well-reasoned proposals will be proven right and the empty rhetoric will be dispelled.
The campaign to win the Greek people’s vote, waged by the fragmented parties of the opposition is unquestionably a process of deceiving and misleading the Greek people, since they view politics as a purely communicative and irresponsible game, devoid of any seriousness or substantively effective alternative proposals for addressing and resolving the daily problems of citizens.
The complex nature of politics requires not only specialized training but also a keen understanding of both domestic and international dynamics, a fact that is inextricably linked to a close engagement with the world’s problems, given that, while aspiring parties may espouse an ideology, but this ideology, in and of itself, must, as it becomes capable and suitable, propel society forward rather than leave it anchored in the past, but in any case, the ideology itself, on its own, is not enough, since it by no means constitutes a panacea for all of society’s problems.
Today, beyond the ruling party—which, despite the inevitable wear and tear it has suffered from governing for seven consecutive years, has nevertheless managed nevertheless, to convince the Greek people, because it speaks in political terms, does not resort to slogans or engage in polemics solely for self-serving reasons of grandstanding, because people now clearly understand that the government has embarked on a titanic and honorable effort to put the country’s house in order in many ways and on multiple levels.
At the same time, it is securing the appropriate alliances on the international stage, so that Greece, through commercial partnerships, can also cooperate strategically, unwaveringly safeguarding its national borders.
The people, of course, in accordance with the polls, trusts the government precisely because it is fighting, from the ground up, to ensure social peace, the adoption of an effective package of measures to reduce inflation, the reinforcement of a sense of security among its citizens, provides strong incentives for young families to have children in order to address the acute demographic, crisis looming over vulnerable households, which have been financially devastated due to and as a result of the unforeseen change in economic conditions through no fault of their own, beginning with the country’s entry into the first memorandum and, from that point on,the recent decision of the Supreme Court.
Thus, the government, while remaining static for the time being, is gradually—yet unwaveringly and inexorably—taking giant strides forward, embracing all Greeks, without demanding proof of loyalty or ideological divisions, as the former prime minister, Mr. Tsipras , is already doing in an inflammatory manner through the vanguard of his newly formed and much-touted party, the divisive ELAS.
The individual in question, along with the entire opposition and the self-proclaimed saviors of the nation, who unquestioningly hope to enter Parliament with a rambling argument about the vague eradication of corruption and collusion, the eradication of darkness and the bringing of light, can only provoke derision among the weary Greek people, who desire a trustworthy party that articulates truths and in no way slips into toxic divisions and inflammatory tactics, which are very deliberately aimed at obscuring the truth and, through devious means, at the end goal of reaping the votes of those who are, ultimately, misled.
For the time is near—whenever and if the elections are ultimately held—when well-reasoned proposals will prevail and empty rhetoric will be dispelled, that is, the self-righteous purists and propagandists of gray untruths will be swept aside.
Already, those who until recently promised to overturn the entrenched establishment completely and abruptly, appealing to the emotions of the masses, the vulgar slogan-mongers of the broadcast media fall silent whenever asked to take a stand on thorny economic, international, national, and general social issues—that is, when they are called upon to present, in a very formal manner, their substantive proposals as well as their long-term strategic plan to effectively address the overwhelming social problems.
Do not, therefore, be misled by appearances alone regarding the television narcissists—the newly minted stars of politics—who view governance as a malleable game of deep self-gratification of their public image in the mass media, ignoring that the concept of politics requires multifaceted skills, humility, prudence, experience, and effectiveness.
In conclusion, the criteria of the majority of the Greek people remain active and sound, giving a clear lead to the New Democracy partyD, which—as all indications suggest—will see its poll numbers soar at the right time, to the benefit of our homeland and of all Greeks without exception.
