Paul Polakis sends another strong message to Alexis Tsipras, announcing that he will not follow the former prime minister.
Specifically, Paulos Polakis in a radio interview, when asked about Alexis Tsipras’ moves with the new party, made it clear that while his call for all forces to work together based on the proposals he has made is valid, he is not willing to join another party and will remain with Syriza.
When asked about whether he would follow the former prime minister, he replied meaningfully, “I was SYRIZA, SYRIZA will remain. Beyond that, and for Tsipras, his response to the 10 + 1 points program for programmatic progressive opposition and cooperation that SYRIZA has formulated is also valid.”
Does not talk to Tsipras
The Chania MP revealed that he has not spoken to the former prime minister for a very long time and probably has no intention of doing so. In fact, when asked if he is waiting for a phone call to join the new party being prepared by Alexis Tsipras, he replied in the negative, adding “If I hold the phone to my ear it gets hot and I can’t wait for a call. Just as I have vertigo, I have an intolerance to putting the phone to my ear for a long time.”
It is clear that the former minister has no desire to follow Alexis Tsipras and will remain in Syriza, apparently challenging his leadership. Of course, the former prime minister wouldn’t want Pavlos Polakis in his new venture either, so the feelings are mutual.
Pavlos Polakis ended with a mantra – a message to Alexis Tsipras: “I don’t want borrowed wings, I fly with my own. That’s why they are very jealous of my flying.”
