This move is considered provocative toward Turkey and is expected to cause further tension in the relations between Netanyahu and Erdogan.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry described the decision as “historic,” announcing that it had unanimously approved the proposal by Minister Gideon Saar to recognize the Armenian genocide. “It is never too late to do what is right (…) it is both a moral and a historical duty,” emphasized Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar.
