The Prime Minister presented in Aigaleo plan for wages, price stability and control, with the prospect of changes in the economy starting in September.

The discussion regarding the trajectory of the Greek economy is vigorously returning to the forefront, as the government attempts to capitalize on the gradual stabilization ahead of the coming period.

From Aigaleo, Kyriakos Mitsotakis focused on measures regarding disposable income and addressing inflationary pressures, attempting to outline a framework of continuity as well as expectations for more measurable results in the immediate future.

At the same time, the government strategy links any price developments to fiscal capacity and targeted interventions, creating a political and economic narrative that seeks to respond to increased social demands for a substantial improvement in the standard of living.

In this context, the government team is attempting to transform individual economic announcements into a unified narrative of policy consistency, emphasizing both income support as well as on the gradual easing of market pressures.

The emphasis is now shifting from crisis management to projecting a period “normalization,” with a focus on upcoming monthly developments and, above all, the period after the summer, when the government expects the impact of these interventions on citizens’ daily lives to become more apparent.

The Report

Three years have passed since the 2023 elections —we have presented a report on our work at a time when there is widespread disillusionment with and skepticism toward politics, when people say “they’re all the same” and political newcomers want to save us—when the time comes, we’ll tell you what we promised you in ’23 and what we’ve done so far.

When the time comes, our credibility will be based on “what we told you and what we ultimately did” – We haven’t solved everything; we’ll continue to work very hard.

Wage increases and income support are the only defense against rising prices – There are no easy solutions for lowering prices – We hope to see stable prices in the coming months and steady price reductions starting in September – This is our response to those who keep repeating old promises and outdated slogans—we haven’t forgotten the experiments that nearly led us to the brink – Greece will not return to a past we want to forget once and for all
We are addressing the silent majority who know there are difficulties but also know that the only party that has a vision for the Greece of the future is New Democracy.

Today, after a great deal of effort, we succeeded in fulfilling our commitment and paid out 617 million through the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) in a fair, secure, and efficient manner – For all products, we paid the subsidies to which honest farmers were entitled – We cut 150 εκ. from the fraudsters and redirected those funds to honest farmers—this is the battle against the deep state.
