The Presidency of the Government, the OECD and the ECB will present on July 3 the OECD Diaspora Review Greece on the Greek workforce abroad, international mobility trends, and policies for harnessing this potential.
On July 3, 2026, at the Bodossaki Foundation, an event will be held on the topic “Greek Human Capital Abroad: The Return”, co-organized by the General Secretariat for Coordination of the Presidency of the Government and the Permanent Delegation of Greece to the OECD. The focus will be on the presentation of the findings of the study “OECD Diaspora Review Greece”, which was prepared in collaboration with the National Center for Documentation and Digital Content (EKT), as part of the OECD’s “Talent Abroad” series.
Presentation of the study and presentations
The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. with an introductory welcome address by Secretary General for Coordination of the Presidency of the Government, Evi Dramalioti. This will be followed by remarks from the Minister of State Akis Skertsos, the Minister of Labor and Social Security Niki Kerameos, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yiannis Loverdos.
Next, Jean-Christophe Dumont, head of the International Migration Directorate at the OECD, will present the international mobility trends and policies for leveraging human capital in the session “OECD Talent Abroad”.
Immediately afterward, Lisa Andersson, from the Directorate for Employment, Labor and Social Affairs Directorate of the OECD, will present the data, the trends, and the challenges highlighted by the study “Mapping the Greek Diaspora” on the Greek diaspora.
The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session with journalists.
From findings to strategy, the discussion on policies
The program will conclude with roundtable on the topic “From Findings to Strategy—How Data Translates into Policy”, focusing on linking the study’s conclusions to public policy design.
Participants in the discussion will include Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Greece to the OECD, Giorgos Pagoulatos, the Secretary General for Labor Relations, Nikos Milapidis, Secretary General for the Greek Diaspora and Public Diplomacy, Maira Myrogianni, and Secretary General for Coordination of the Prime Minister’s Office, Evi Dramalioti, with coordination provided by Director of the National Documentation Center, Kyriakos Tolias.
