For the eighth time in five years, Bulgarians have gone to the polls with pro-Russian Rumen Radev registering a significant lead, according to early exit polls.
Specifically, Progressive Bulgaria, the party of pro-Russian former Bulgarian president Rumen Radev, is leading in the parliamentary elections held in Bulgaria today.
According to exit polls by Sofia-based Alpha Research, the party of Rumen Radev garnered 37.5% of the vote, with the GERB party led by former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in second place with 16.2%.
Note that Bulgarian voters seem to give a lead to pro-Russian Rumen Radev, at a time when as of 1/1/2026 they changed their currency and joined the eurozone.
