A request to the trial court that the three protected witnesses not testify was made today by defense attorneys, in trial for the murder of police officer Jiorgos Liggeridis.
These are witnesses who during the preliminary investigation have turned against some accused.
Defense attorneys have submitted a request not to testify if the court does not first check whether they have dual status, that is, if they are witnesses and defendants in the same case.
The prosecutor reserved his motion on this request, and the trial was adjourned and will resume tomorrow with the testimony of police officers.
