Because there are several… Orbans circulating among us, voters should take heed because, in addition to the existing ones, some are thinking of coming – as the chant goes – like spring.

You won’t hear them declare themselves philophobic, nationalist, xenophobic, or even anti-Semitic, but if you’ve noticed, they express such empathy against New Democracy – and personally against Kyriakos Mitsotakis – that Nikos Androulakis appears “moderate” in their eyes.

No doubt that for so many demagogues to flock to the right, they don’t realize that Viktor Orbán’s spectacular failure in Hungary has transcended his country’s borders.

Apparently those who appear potentially as their voters in the polls have not felt the shockwave from the release of energy caused by the return of genuine liberalism and the formation of an independent centre-right government led by Peter Mayer.

The Hungarians have had it, learned and said “enough with populism!” The Greeks, who have had it with the populism of the Syriza-ANEL government, cannot afford to try the same recipe from different demagogues to the right and left of New Democracy.

However, the “Orbans” of the right are not inferior to those of the left, so let the disillusioned beware because the bis sixpence.
