We are not passing our alliances through the approval of third countries, notes a senior diplomatic source on the growing reactions to Turkey against Greek-Israeli cooperation.
“We have a specific policy. We have put our proposals on the table as it has never been done in the post-communist era,” the same sources said. “We have Marine Spatial Planning versus the unsubstantiated Blue Country theorem, we have sea parks versus the green belt theory, we have Chevron and Libya, which we will be visiting soon, versus the unsubstantiated Turkish-Colombian memorandum, we have the deployment of military forces on the islands versus the unsubstantiated theory of independence.”
The same sources stressed that Turkey’s reaction to the fishing charters is within the traditional Angkorian logic.
On Kasoand the incident with the Dutch ship, the same source said it is a standard tactic of Turkey to fail. “The Dutch ship rightly got the permission from us. As far as we know it did not get permission from Turkey. The key thing is that everyone recognises that the responsibility for issuing permits in specific areas belongs to Greece. There is no dispute about who issues the permit.”
“Recently there has beenan aggravation on the part of Turkey that is not constructive. Greece will continue to work for peace, security and prosperity in the region,” he said.
