The European Union approves new €90 billion package for Ukraine, with the prime minister stressing unity and strategic support.
At a critical juncture for the geopolitical balance in Europe, Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a clear political signal from Cyprus, underlining the EU’s firm commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of the ongoing conflict. Against the backdrop of the agreement on a new 90 billion euro financial package, the Greek Prime Minister highlighted the importance of European cohesion and inclusive solidarity, noting that these decisions are not just financial aid but critical tools for ensuring the functioning of the state and the defence capacity of Ukraine.
From Agia Napa, Cyprus, where the gate of the informal EU summit opened, on the occasion of the approval of the new 90 billion euro financial package, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a strong message of support to Ukraine.
“The fact that these resources will be released is an important step in the right direction. Europe has been standing on the side of Ukraine since the beginning of this war. These resources are essential to ensure that Ukraine continues to function as a state and can defend itself. I am glad because for four years now Europe has been united and is overcoming any obstacles to support Ukraine,” the Prime Minister said.
