The further strengthening and broadening of the strategic cooperation between Greece and France is marked by the visit of Emmanuel Macron to Athens.

The visit of the President of the French Republic to Athens today and tomorrow, April 24 and 25, is expected to highlight the timeless ties between France and Greece, their shared commitment to European values, as well as their close cooperation in many areas, in particular in defence, the economy and culture,as Elysee has characteristically pointed out.

At the same time, it is underlined that Greece and France maintain a strategic partnership in the fields of defence and security, which was signed in September 2021.

Today, Friday, at 19.30, Emmanuel Macron will participate, together with the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in a discussion at an event organised by the newspaper Kathimerini on the topic “Challenges for Europe – The road to tomorrow” at the Roman Agora of Athens.

On Saturday morning, the prime minister and the president of France will visit the frigate “Kimon”.

At 11.30am, the prime minister will meet with the president of France at the Maximou Mansion. A signing of agreements will follow, after which the two leaders will make statements to the press.
