Uncooperative with investigators appears to be the 31-year-old gunman who attacked the White House correspondents’ dinner in the presence of Donald Trump and his ministers.
“It appears that he was actually targeting individuals, at officials, working in the government, possibly the president,” said acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche, speaking on NBC News’ Meet the Press. Todd Blanche explained “the suspect traveled by train from Los Angeles to Chicago and then to Washington, D.C.” “The suspect is not cooperating with investigators,” Todd Blanche stressed.
According to initial reports, the charges against him in federal court will be first, assaulting a federal agent and second, use of a firearm with intent to kill a federal agent.
Donald Trump’s message
Soon after US acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s statement in an intervention, the US president, Donald Trump blamed yesterday’s violent incident on the fact that Justice is considering a lawsuit that has delayed the construction of a secure banquet hall on the White House grounds.
He stressed, in fact, that “the lawsuit should be dropped immediately” and construction of that hall should proceed. It should be noted that this is the th attempted assassination of Donald Trump in a row.
Donald Trump’s entire post
“What happened last night is exactly why our great Military, Secret Service, Law Enforcement and, for different reasons, every President for the last 150 years, DEMANDS that a large, safe and secure banquet hall be built IN THE WHITE HOUSE FACILITIES.
This incident would never have happened if the ballroom, which is under construction at the White House and covered by military secrecy, had been in place. It can’t be built fast enough! Ewhile it is beautiful, it has all the highest level security features available, plus there are no rooms above it where unsecured people could enter, and it is within the gates of the most secure building in the world, the White House.
The ridiculous lawsuit over the ballroom, brought by a woman walking her dog, who has absolutely no legal standing to bring such a lawsuit, should be dropped immediately.
Nothing should be allowed to impede its construction, which is on budget and basically ahead of schedule!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD TRUMP.”
