With Bladimir Putin, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will meet tomorrow (4/27) in Moscow as part of his contacts on peace in the region.
Completing his consultations with the government of Pakistan today, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to travel to Moscow tomorrow (4/27) where he will hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is a meeting which Abbas Araghchi himself had announced after he had previously concluded consultations in Islamabad of Pakistan and Muscat of Oman.
During his scheduled visit to the Russian capital, as part of a tour that began Friday in Islamabad, Abbas Araghchi will discuss “with Russian officials the latest state of the negotiations, the ceasefire and related developments“. At the same time, “Abbas Araghchi will present the report on these negotiations to Russian officials,” the Iranian news agency ISNA reported.
For its part, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed today that the head of Iran’s diplomacy will travel to Russia, Russian state news agencies reported, without specifying the date or whether Abbas Araghchi will meet President Putin.
“We confirm Araghchi’s visit to Russia for talks,” the Russian Foreign Ministry, quoted by the news agencies, said after Iran’s ambassador announced the Iranian minister’s upcoming trip to Russia.
What Trump’s response to Iran
With this in mind, it appears that Iran’s negotiations with the US will be postponed to the next period. Earlier today, US President Donald Trump speaking on Fox News said: “I believe that the war with Iran will come to an end very soon and that we will be victorious.” “Communication can be done directly and without mediators,” he underlined, stressing: “We will do it by phone.” “If Iran wants dialogue, it can go directly to the United States,” Donald Trump concluded: “If Iran wants to talk, they can call us.”
