The Nikos Androulakis is acting as if he’s covering for Alexis Tsipras‘s… days offtoxicity.
Another speech by Nikos Androulakis, this time in the context of the process of electing a new secretary of the party – which has gone through a thousand waves – and the members of the Political Council, followed the same pattern. Attacks, personal references to the prime minister and toxicitycombined with popularism that boils down to the “money is there” logic.
In PASOK the leadership team has come up with tactics reminiscent of Alexis Tsipras and is doing everything it can to express itself with toxicity and populism, covering his… requirements, until he returns to the central political scene with the creation of a new party composed of the members of Syriza who are waiting at the exit door.
The PASOK president’s speech included what he has been saying all this time without changing the party. What’s worse is that he is also repeating what has been contradicted, showing that the central political line is “say, say, something will remain”, as he did on Sunday with the “deal” Maximou and N.D. MPs.
Reality doesn’t make sense, but a good -as they perceive it in Harilaou Trikoupis– slogan and a line for the social media or a headline in the media moving along the line of “let Mitsotakis go” without even bothering to include “and we’ll see” anymore, since citizens understand that in such a version the aftermath is dramatically reminiscent of periods like that of 2015.
The PASOK has become a protest party. It seeks the negative vote of the citizens by essentially selling a supposed catharsis through the criminalization of political life, as Alexis Tsipras practically did. He is seeking votes in a pool of voters who declare themselves antisystemic, something that is expected to be done -already done by his interventions- by the former prime minister, former president and former MEP of SYRIZA.
Yesterday’s speech by Nikos Androulakis, in which he declared the start of his party’s primary race, only confirms that toxicity and populism will be the main characteristics that will dominate throughout the coming period as the battle for the second of the elections is expected to be fierce…
